Access to high-quality investment opportunities for angel investors is crucial for a healthy and robust deal flow. Add that to a vibrant community of like-minded early-stage investors with a gender-lens investment focus, and great deals are sourced, applauded and funded. This is our goal and mission during our Stella Angels curated events to connect investors who are actively investing in their ecosystems to founders who are investable & ready to pitch. As GoingVC mentions, "More opportunities means more investments means more money, right? Not necessarily. It is important for Angels to be able to differentiate between quality and poor investment opportunities, known as deal flow. Successful investors build processes to efficiently screen out low-quality deals, and the majority of this work is done before deals even come their way."

At Stella Angels at Stella Foundation we pride ourselves in finding/sourcing diverse women founders from a variety of industries, geographical locations, sectors of our economy, TRLs (Technology Readiness Levels), and startup stages (pres-seed to Series A) in order for our wide angel network to have an opportunity to listen to, vet and invest in great deal flow. We also make sure that we create (1) deal summaries for all of our showcase startups, (2)opportunities to gain pitch feedback for the showcase founders to have their 3-min pitch reviewed with 1-3 rounds of pitch coaching from our Stella Foundation leaders, mentors, investors and board members, and (3) technology and investor-relations support pre- and post-event through networking during the event.

Pioneering FEMtech for future Mothers.

Problem: Each year, over 140 million pregnant women worldwide endure repetitive manual vaginal exams, known as painful, intrusive, traumatic and inaccurate. Women’s approach to the exam, the World Health Organization, multiple medical studies, as well as the high costs associated with the exam, are all calling for an alternative.

Solution: Ciconia Medical has created a medical device that replaces the two-fingers vaginal exam and provides women with a non-painful and safe process while providing clinicians with accurate and user-independent information about the cervix and the progress of labor. The device images the cervix during labor and allows clinicians to take measurements of the cervix (i.e dilation and effacement), as well as to observe the presenting part of the baby.

These children need our support, but we are busy parents, working longer hours, and feeling stressed by social expectations because we are trying to raise our kids in a different way than we were raised.

Solution: Cuentologia is a screen-free storytelling platform for children's emotional development. We offer original audio stories, vetted by psychologists and experts and with top-notch production, to make parenting easier and children emotionally stronger.

Improving access to healthcare by providing high-quality, affordable diagnostic tools for practitioners!

Problem: 35 million Americans suffer from chronic nasal infection. There are only 10,000 Ear, Nose, and Throat surgeons (ENTs) in the USA, and so the vast majority of diagnosis and care of nasal diseases falls to Primary Care Practitioners (PCPs). Over 25 million primary care visits each year are caused by chronic nasal congestion, and the average doctor sees 15 patients a week with this condition, PCPs must determine the cause. Patients go through more than 5 ineffective treatments and months of repeat visits – a huge cost and frustration for payers, patients, and providers.

Solution: Scopi is the first sinonasal visualization device designed for PCPs, opening up a new market and solving a key need. We estimate that the provision of Scopi’s initial endoscope device to PCPs would result in a $432 decreased cost per patient, 33% decrease in unnecessary ENT referrals, and 8% increase in PCP revenue.
