Dear Friends of CEW+,
This month, CEW+ invites you to reflect on the power of gratitude as a form of self-care. Taking a moment to acknowledge what we are thankful for can help cultivate resilience, boost well-being, and help to stay grounded during transitions.
In this spirit, I want to express our gratitude to the CEW+ community which inspires our work through its collective expertise, determination, and drive. Each of our CEW+ scholars, fellows, campus partners, donors, council members, and community members play a vital role in advancing the Center’s mission. We appreciate you and your efforts to uphold and shape our shared values and goals. You strengthen our community. As an organization, we are continuously reminded of the power of community, and we are grateful that you are a part of it.
2024 CEW+ Scholar Lya Li inspires me through her journey and her demonstration of gratitude for the steadfast support of her parents, who, coming from a small city in China, worked hard to establish themselves. Lya, the first woman in her family to attend college, studies design and technology for learning across culture and context at the Marsal Family School of Education. Her journey is not just about her personal achievements, but also about her family's collective hopes and aspirations. She envisions a democratized education that guarantees fair access to top-notch learning opportunities for people from diverse socio-economic backgrounds and geographical locations. Thank you, Lya, for your commitment to making education more accessible.
