Call for presentation proposals for the 2024 Michigan Environmental Compliance Conference!
Deadline to submit presentation proposals: December 3, 2023
The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) will host the 2024 Michigan Environmental Compliance Conference (MECC) at the Lansing Center on June 5 and 6, 2024. The MECC is designed to help businesses, municipalities, and environmental professionals comply with their environmental requirements.
The 2024 MECC will incorporate several concurrent tracks covering introductory and advanced compliance topics. The conference will also include an EGLE Assistance area where attendees can meet one-on-one with staff from multiple EGLE programs. Whether you are new to the environmental field or an experienced veteran, this conference will have something for everyone!
EGLE is seeking a limited number of external presenters to augment the 2024 MECC. We invite any interested party to submit a proposal for presentation(s) on the following topics:
- New business: What are my environmental responsibilities?
- How to conduct an environmental audit
- Tools and technology related to scheduling, tracking, and performing of tasks to achieve environmental compliance
- Case Studies
- Land or resource use restrictions/institutional controls
- Environmental Due Diligence
- Conducting assessments of infrastructure vulnerability to flooding and/or climate change (specifically for industrial applications)
- Cybersecurity
- Climate change, impacts to infrastructure, and solutions
- Emerging Pollutants (microplastics, PFAS, pharmaceuticals, etc.) and innovations in treatment
- Innovations in Environmental Emergency Response Technology
Incident response and management - Environmental reporting (determining applicability and compliance -- e.g., Integrated Contingency Plans; Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure Plans; Risk Management Plans; HAZMAT security Plans)
All presentations will be 40 minutes including time for audience questions and answers. Presentations should not be used to promote, sell, or market a product/service.
Those who submit accepted proposals will be notified by mid-January. All primary presenters will receive a complimentary full conference registration.
Deadline for Proposals: December 3, 2023
Attendee registration will open in March, 2024.
