Greater Metropolitan Association of REALTORS Makes History

The Greater Metropolitan Association of REALTORS (GMAR) held its 2023 Annual Membership Meeting on Monday, November 4,2023, with the theme of “Embracing Change”. The meeting was attended by hundreds of realtors, brokers, and industry professionals who gathered to celebrate the achievements of the past year and look forward to the opportunities and challenges of the new year.The highlight of the meeting was the inauguration of Mrs. Dee Ohara Blizard as the new President of GMAR. Mrs. Blizard is a veteran realtor with over 20 years of experience in Real Estate in the Greater Metropolitan area. She has served on various committees and leadership positions within GMAR.

The Greater Association of Realtors (GMAR) made history by appointing Mrs. Blizard as its first African American leader. During her inaugural address, Mrs. Blizard acknowledged the challenges facing the real estate industry due to the changing economic and social landscape. She expressed confidence that GMAR is ready to embrace these changes and adapt to meet the evolving demands and expectations of clients and the profession. Mrs. Blizard emphasized the importance of continuing to provide quality education, advocacy, and networking opportunities for members while promoting ethical and professional standards in the industry. With Mrs. Blizard at the helm, GMAR is poised for a bright future.
