SARA Title III, also known as the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act, requires facilities to report information to state and local officials that can be vital to the safety of their community.

The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy is hosting four
in-person SARA Title III Tier II Workshops around the state. These workshops will provide an overview of program regulations, reporting requirements, emergency planning requirements and a step-by-step tutorial on logging into Tier II Manager and initiating a Tier II Annual Report. Time will also be set aside to answer questions and provide assistance in logging into Tier II Manager.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: This workshop is recommended for owners, operators, and environmental and safety personnel of facilities that have hazardous materials and/or chemicals on site. Environmental consultants, Local or Tribal Emergency Planning Committees, and fire department personnel can also benefit from this workshop and are encouraged to attend.

CONTINUING EDUCATION: This workshop is approved for 0.3 Drinking Water and Wastewater CECs in the managerial category, 3 CEHs/PDHs for professional engineers, and 4 Credit Hours for Certified Fire Inspectors.

REGISTRATION COST: $65 (includes a hard copy of the Michigan Facilities' Guide to SARA Title III, Emergency Planning and Release Reporting)
