Ypsilanti Interdisciplinary Artist Christina Marie Sears releases a jazz and poetry album this spring. Public are invited to an Album Release Party and Performance June 21st @ 7:00 pm at Yours Truly.

Tickets $20- $30 each, with refreshments included and various perks, including a CD or download of the album, Moments Contemporary Haiku and Jazz.

What is MOMENTS?

This is a 'zine, published by Maple Street Studios that we expanded into a song cycle with original jazz music settings.

The 'zine is fully illustrated and like most haiku, seasons and the natural world are themes woven throughout the collection. Fresh imagery and themes of connection of self to nature and self to others ground the poems in these complex times. Insect and avian life, as well as other animals from Michigan's wetlands make appearances in the poems. Arts and cultural reference to dancing, self-care and surviving loss nourish the poems.

The album is a unique listening experience we composed using structured improvisation. The album will be available for streaming on or around 6/28/24.
