The global automotive supply chain is in the process of dramatically changing. In the near future, it will be sustainable and resilient. We'll be covering both of these topics in our next two conferences in February and April. For February, we'll be focusing on sustainability. Because we're focusing on the supply chain rather than the value chain, we won't look at how vehicles are driven and disposed of. We're focusing on how the manufacturers, Tier 1 suppliers, Tier 2 suppliers, and Tier 3 suppliers down to the mining of minerals in the US and across the globe develop, track, and execute sustainability strategies that make sense in the short term and long term, while maintaining profitable organizations.
Profitability is no easy task when companies must add staff to develop sustainable strategies and track sustainable practices across their supply chains. Companies are always looking for the best price, delivery, and quality from their suppliers, and now they must look deep into their own and their suppliers’ practices to look for sustainable practices that may or may not increase their costs. There will be best practices developed across supply chains to track and implement sustainability and find ways to manage their costs. These are what we want to discuss at our conference in February. Some of the questions we will address include:
• Can manufacturers rely on their supply base to provide accurate data on their sustainability practices, or will they need to monitor their entire supply chain?
• How will auto suppliers monitor their global supply chain for their sustainability?
• How far along are companies in their developing their sustainability strategies as well as supporting and monitoring their suppliers.
• Is there US government support for companies developing and implementing sustainability programs?
• What metrics have been developed to measure sustainability in supply chains?
• Are investment firms taking a company's sustainability practices into account?
• How long will it take for a manufacturer to estimate its supply chain’s sustainability?
Confirmed Speakers include:
Bruce Belzowski, Managing Director, Automotive Futures will moderate the conference and provide an overview of the current trends in automotive supply chain sustainability practices.
Laurie Hoose, Senior Manager, ESG Lead, and David Andrea, Principal, MC-Supplier Relations Analytics at Plante Moran will discuss their work helping auto suppliers meet their and their customers' sustainability goals.
